Yes! If you got a regular rinse tan you will be ok to leave the color on for 8-12 hours before rinsing. You’ll want to keep covered up to prevent water drips, skin on skin contact, and any color transfer that may happen during this time. You should not be sleeping in shorts, tank tops, nightgowns, or nude. When spray tanned skin comes into contact with other spray tanned skin, it will develop to be a darker color than the rest of your skin. This is especially tru for your hands and feet.
If you had a rapid rinse spray tan (advised to rinse from 1-5 hours) you shouldn’t sleep in your tan. This type of solution is stronger than the original rinse version and gets darker progressively until you rinse it off.
I usually say:
- LIGHT TAN - 2-3 hours
- MEDIUM TAN - 4-5 hours
- DARK TAN - 6-8+ hours
